Munira Mendonça's Leather Craft Courses

The historic city of Granada, in southern Spain, will be the setting for your introductory and intermediate leatherwork classes of leather tooling, stamping and carving. You will stay right in ‘Plaza Nueva’, the central square of the old Moorish quarter of the city, which lies in a valley between the Alhambra Palace and the Albaicin. While there you will be able to immerse yourself in the Andalucian life style and be creatively inspired by the surrounding architecture and beauty of the area.

These beginner and intermediate leather classes will give step by step instructions on the use of leather crafting tools, including the swivel knife, transferring carving patterns, carving leather designs, dying leather, and stamping designs. All detailed techniques will be drawn, explained and demonstrated.

We will be working with geometric and floral designs. A trip to tour the world famous Alhambra Palace, where these designs are prominent, is included as part of your visit. The memory of this enchanting palace with the Sierra Nevada mountain range rising behind it will stay with you long after you leave Granada.
